The community issue I chose was animal cruelty. It is truly upsetting having to see pets not being treated correctly because of their owners unwillingness to do their part. To some people it is very easy to just get ownership of a pet and not realize that it is not a toy that you just look at or abandon when you're tired of it. It annoys me having to see pets being thrown outside with horrible weather conditions and with no resources to please the animals needs. Such as if it was a hot and humid day and a pet was left outside with no water or food for hours. I personally think there should be consequences regarding some fine to the owner because it is a responsibility they put themselves into to take care of another living creature whom deserves to be treated with respect.
As for my mom her community issue is being over reliable on technology. A way technology affects us negatively is taking away too many jobs that it makes it difficult to find employment. Also based on how fast technology changes something is being replaced causing many changes in a routine or a way something is usually done and the result could be annoying after awhile as technology is needed more making it difficult for those who have trouble understanding how a certain technology works.
I agree with your mom we have become to reliant on technology but also take in account that we are the ones who invented it. The reason that we have made technology is to make our lives easier, and it has for many. We can now make things faster thus produce more. Even though some people find it hard to adapt to technology it has become a part of our lives and like everything else in life we have to adapt to it. Yes there may not be people who find it easy to adapt to this rapid technological wave but that doesn't mean they can't. With this technology people learn more and its invention itself is incredible. Our world is developing and there is nothing we can do about it but learn to live with it.
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree with your mom on the misuse of technology in Round Lake. Of course technology is not a bad thing because it helps us very much, but the fact that sure we have the technology but schools who would really benefit from them do not have many. But that goes back to show that the way our money in our community is being distributed is not right. As to the animal cruelty yes, that is very sad and unfortunate. The way we can help is by having more shelters for animals and provide more help for animals. Making it more of a friendly environment not just for ourselves but even the animals in our community.
