Calvin clearly loves poetry and so do we! For your homework tonight we'd like you to find a short poem that is no more than five lines in length (you could also use a four or five line stanza from your favorite poem). After you've found your five lines, memorize them. Make sure to bring your poem/stanza with you to Project Soapbox tomorrow.
Here's an example of a short excerpt from Allen Ginsberg's Howl that I might memorize:
I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked,
dragging themselves through the negro streets at dawn looking for an angry fix,
angelheaded hipsters burning for the ancient heavenly connection to the starry dynamo in the machinery of night...
